John Deere has officially announced the launch of five brand-new new P-Tier Skid Steer Loader (SSL) and Compact Track Loader (CTL) models. According to certain reports, these models include the 330 and 334 P-Tier SSLs and the 331, 333 and 335 P-Tier CTLs, each one decked up with a new one-piece cab design, technology features, and operating power. Talk about the whole value proposition on a slightly deeper level, we begin from an intuitive cab design, which involves large, fully redesigned operator stations. These operator stations are sealed pressurized and isolated from the frame, hence making sure that outside noise will be lowered and the cab interior is protected from all harmful elements that are commonplace at a construction site. Within the cabin itself, there is an 8-in. touchscreen display interface, available on the full line-up of P-Tier models and standard on the 334 and 335 P-Tier. Through this display, customers can experience insight and customization of machine settings and viewing of information. Further featuring a new premium heated and ventilated seat which works in various types of climates, the cabin also has hands-free Bluetooth calling capabilities that allow the operator to answer calls, as well as control audio streaming. The cabin area even boasts a new 25-button SSM that puts all functions in one spot, eliminates rocker switches, and facilitates machine adjustments as it operates.
Moving outside of the cabin, the new models offer capabilities and performance that build upon the legacy of John Deere’s large frame G-Series machines. You see, the all-new 333 and 335 P-Tier Compact Track Loaders are open to accommodate SmartGrade Ready technology, including 2D grade control or 3D SmartGrade with Topcon. Joining the same are On Board Diagnostics that enable an operator to navigate through the diagnostic and settings menu structure to look up detailed information on current machine settings and active codes. Markedly enough, these active diagnostic trouble codes, on their part, are also likely to contain detailed descriptions about the issue and not just the code number. Another detail worth a mention regarding the overall development is rooted in the introduction of an Attachment Manager and Surround View functionality. Starting from the former, available as an upgrade on the 330, 331 and 333 P-Tier Machines and standard on the 334 and 335 P-Tier models, the Attachment Manager basically eliminates the guesswork which has long remained associated with the process of determining attachment performance parameters. The solution does that, in essence, by enabling preprogrammed flow and pressure for John Deere attachments.
As for the Surround View technology, available on all P-Tier models, this one basically stitches together views from around the machine to provide a bird’s-eye-view image, and therefore, support situational awareness on the jobsite. In an event where you are reversing the vehicle, the display can also automatically switch to the rearview camera which gives the operator a close view of what’s behind the machine. More on the same would reveal how the Surround View technology dynamically integrates two boom mounted cameras in conjunction with a rear camera, onto a dedicated monitor that provides a 270-degree view of the sides and rear of the machine. To complement these new functionalities, the John Deere Operations Center will remain accessible on all large-frame CTL and SSL models so to enable fleet managers to monitor machine location, codes, fuel usage and other features.
“We are beyond excited to introduce the latest John Deere P-Tier compact machines, including the brand-new 334 and 335 P-Tier models,” said Emily Pagura, product marketing manager at John Deere. “Our customers and dealers have been instrumental in driving the development of these new models, and can now experience even more power, technology and innovation on the P-Tier Compact Track Loaders and Skid Steers.”
