New industrial facilities will expand manufacturing capacity to support growing demand for energy infrastructure, data centers and digital industries
Querétaro, Mexico, 21 August 2026 – Schneider Electric is expanding its manufacturing operations in Querétaro with new industrial facilities that will increase its capacity to produce electrical distribution solutions and equipment for critical energy infrastructure.
The expansion includes two facilities that have already been completed and a third planned for a future phase. Together, the facilities will add nearly 115,000 square meters of industrial infrastructure, further strengthening the company’s manufacturing presence in the region.
The new plants will manufacture electrical distribution solutions, equipment for critical energy infrastructure, and specialized projects developed under the Engineer to Order model. This approach allows products and systems to be designed according to specific customer requirements.
The expansion comes as demand grows for stronger and more reliable electrical infrastructure. Manufacturing companies, data centers, and digital businesses require dependable power systems to support their operations. As a result, demand is increasing for advanced electrical equipment, energy management technologies and industrial automation solutions.
For Schneider Electric, the Querétaro project is part of a broader effort to expand its industrial capacity in Mexico. The company has operated in the country for around 80 years and has manufacturing facilities in Querétaro, Nuevo León and Tlaxcala. The new development will bring its total number of manufacturing plants in Mexico to 12.
Schneider Electric currently employs about 12,000 people in Mexico. Its operations manufacture electrical distribution systems, control centers, industrial automation products, and intelligent equipment. Employment is also expected to grow as the new facilities expand, with the company projecting around 4,000 direct jobs by the end of 2027.
The growing demand for data centers is one of the major factors driving investment in electrical infrastructure. Data centers require significant amounts of reliable power and advanced systems to manage energy efficiently.
